WMI Psychiatry Clinic
Expert care. Genuine compassion. Affordable pricing.
Our Approach
We believe that high-quality psychiatric assessment should not be a luxury. Our service was designed to combine clinical excellence with fees that remain transparent, fair and realistic for families and individuals.
We use a structured pathway over a series of appointments so that assessments are thorough and well considered. Rather than making decisions in one brief session, we take time to understand your developmental history, current difficulties, and how these affect day-to-day life.
Our assessments are based on recognised diagnostic criteria and national guidance. We make clinical decisions carefully and explain them clearly, so you understand the reasons for our recommendations.
We aim to provide:
Thoughtful, detailed assessments
Clear written reports
Practical, individualised recommendations
Transparent and proportionate fees
Coordinated communication with your GP
What We Assess
ADHD Assessments
We carry out a comprehensive assessment of attention, impulsivity, and activity levels across different settings, such as home, school, and work. This includes gathering developmental history, questionnaires, and information from other relevant sources to support an accurate diagnosis.
Autism Assessments
We provide a structured assessment of social communication, sensory experiences, and developmental patterns, using recognised clinical frameworks.
General Mental Health Assessments
We assess and treat a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety and low mood, in children, young people, and adults.
Our Assessment Pathways
Our structured assessment pathways typically include:
Detailed developmental and clinical history
Exploration of symptoms across settings
School or workplace feedback where relevant
Standardised rating scales
Clinical observation
Collateral information from someone who knows the individual well
This allows us to develop a clear and balanced understanding before reaching diagnostic conclusions.
A full written report is provided following assessment, written in clear language that can be shared with families, schools and GPs.

Home Visit
If you live in the local area, we may also be able to offer appointments in your own home or another agreed location where clinically appropriate. Home visits can be particularly helpful for individuals who find travelling difficult because of anxiety, autism, mobility difficulties or other circumstances.
Please contact us to discuss whether a home visit may be suitable for your individual needs.
Medication and Ongoing Care
Where clinically appropriate, we offer medication assessment and careful titration. Physical observations are monitored in line with prescribing guidance, and we liaise routinely with your GP to ensure safe and coordinated care.
Shared care arrangements may be requested with your GP, although acceptance is always at the discretion of the practice.
Transparent Fees
Our fees reflect the structured nature of our assessment pathway. We aim to keep costs clear, proportionate and transparent from the outset, with no hidden charges. You can view all fees on the Fees page of our website.
For Families Seeking Clarity
We understand that seeking an assessment can feel like a significant step. Our aim is to provide families with a clear and thoughtful understanding of the difficulties their child is experiencing, whether or not this leads to a diagnosis. We take time to consider each young person as an individual and provide practical recommendations to help families understand what may be going on and what support could be helpful moving forward.
Timely Access
Waiting times vary depending on demand, but we aim to complete the assessment process within six weeks of your initial contact.
